Do You Know What's Going On?

Everyday in Uganda, innocent children are being abducted and taken into the forest. There, they learn how to kill; they are tortured, beaten, and raped. This is all going on secretly as a plan to overthrow the government. Many children go into hiding with nothing but one pair of clothes. They leave home in hopes to find a better life, but all they find is death and misery around them. Children are starved, and those who are taken by the rebels suffer severe injuries such as knife wounds and gun shots. Many young girls are giving early birth because they are being raped by the rebels. This is all going on, and the Uganda government is not doing anything to stop it. Children are being abused, so it is up to children (and adults) to do something to make Uganda, and the children of Uganda, a better safer place to live. Together, we can stop the war in Uganda.

Why Were Doing This / About Our Mission:

Everyday in Uganda, hundreds of thousands of children are fleeing their homes. They are doing this so they do not get abducted by the rebels. The rebels are a group of soldiers that abduct children to make an army strong enough to overthrow the Uganda government. They are abducting children because they are the easiest to “brainwash.” The rebels take children from the ages of 5-12 into the forest of the “bush” and brutally torture them, beat them, shoot them, stab them, and rape them. They are training the children to not be phased by blood…and its working. Children in Uganda are carrying around machine guns, killing innocent people, just like the rebels had done to them. They have no more life, because the rebels have taken it away. The children are scared, but any sign of fear of weakness will get them killed in front of the other children. This is a serious matter that not many people know about. People know about the war in Iraq, people know about the terrorist attack on the World Trade Center in September 2001. What people don’t know is that terrorists from Uganda are starting a war, a war against their own government. They have formed an army of children so strong that the Uganda government cannot do anything about it.

That is where we come in.

The HelpInUganda foundation is here for two reasons. One of the reasons is to inform our government about this war of terrorism in Uganda. If we persuade the government to do something, they most likely will. But we are not here just to change the government’s minds. Our biggest mission is to help the children who are fleeing home. There are hundreds of children sleeping at bus stops, in alleyways, under buildings, in the sewers, just to escape the rebels. These children have nothing but themselves and one pair of clothes. We are here to give them the supplies they need. Our drives will collect food, clothing, sleeping necessities, and many more items to help these children survive.

This is a serious issue that the Uganda government is obviously not capable of handling. On the news, all we see is the war in Iraq, the unjust in the Middle East. But that is nothing like what hundreds of children are going through. Their own friends, family, neighbors, acquaintances are being abducted and taught to turn against them. We need to do something the stop the rebels from destroying Uganda, and taking the lives of these poor children; because these children, and everybody else in Uganda, are not just people from another country, they are human beings just like you and me. And when a group of human beings come together to support one cause, something amazing can happen.

Together, we can help these children. Together, we can give Help In Uganda!
